Color Appearance model ?
Notes:
If you have knowledge of the colorimetric and photometric specification of the stimulus and also, viewing conditions such as the adapting illuminant and the luminance factor of the background, a color appearance model gives you the color-appearance attributes such as lightness, chroma, hue and so on.
For example, you have a print in a light room illuminated with a tungsten lamp, and you know all colorimetric specification of stimulus and viewing, you can get color-appearance attributes. Then you try to reproduce the same image on a CRT display as the print. And if you have a knowledge of colorimetric specification of CRT display and its viewing conditions, the inverse transformation of color appearance model give you a corresponding tristimulus values which reproduces the same color appearance as the original print.
